Government Funded Nursery Hours
Funding Schemes
There are various Government Funding schemes offered to families. All schemes are categorised into age groups and are subject to eligibility. These schemes are advertised over 38 weeks per annum. Elizabeth House provides year-round childcare and so 'stretches' all funding schemes over this period.
-
15-hour scheme: offers eligible families 570 hours of funded childcare per annum over 38 weeks. Once 'stretched' this becomes 11 hours per week.
-
30 hour scheme: offers eligible families 1140 hours of funded childcare per annum over 38 weeks. Once 'stretched' this becomes 22 hours per week.
-
The funded fees detailed above are for children who attend from the start of the academic year. A child starting part way through an academic year may have their remaining funded weeks stretched over a longer period of time. For example, a child who starts in April may have their 12 weeks of funding stretched over 19 weeks.
9 Months - 2 Year Old funding
15-hour funding is available for 9 month to 2-year-olds and is subject to eligibility, determined by Oxfordshire County Council. Eligible families will be entitled to 570 hours of funding throughout the year with Elizabeth House. The 30 hours scheme for this age group is available from 2025.
2 Year Old Funding
15-hour funding is available for 2-year-olds and is subject to eligibility, determined by Oxfordshire County Council. Eligible 2-year-olds will be entitled to 570 hours of funding throughout the year with Elizabeth House. The 30 hours scheme for this age group is available from 2025.
3 & 4 Year Old Funding
At present, all families automatically qualify for the 15-hour funding scheme from the term after their child's third birthday. The 30-hour funding scheme is available to eligible families and is determined by Oxfordshire County Council.
Tax Free Childcare
This scheme provides families with a method towards paying childcare costs and can provide savings up to £2000 per year. It can be used alongside both 15 and 30 hours funding. The Tax Free Childcare scheme is subject to eligibility, similar to that of the 30 hours funding. However, unlike 30 hours funding, it is available to all families with children in nursery. Full details of eligibility can be found here and can be applied for here.
